Well, England lost and a nation mourns. The GF is very cast down, a lover of football who has never seen his national team win. I at least saw Pakistan win at cricket when I was 11, so got that out of the way early, when it still mattered.
We watched it on a rather mediocre projector setup which gave a taste of what our far superior setup will offer. It was a rather grinding match, and after the first forty minutes Italy dominated the field though only scored once, to equalise. It went to penalties and three players didn’t score – all young, and the last only 19. What a thing to start your career, and I fear that the fact that all three were black will not go unnoticed by the England fans.
